·     My most formative experience I had was creating our venture concepts. I have never put together a business plan or tried to sell an idea to someone. Through the process I have come to realize that there is a lot of thought, detail, time, and careful planning that goes into putting a business plan together. Even the most minute detail or lack thereof can sway a potential investor so attention to detail is key. Th most joyous experience I had this semester was the positive feedback I received from my peers and interviewees. Obviously not everyone thought it was an ingenious idea but for the most part, the feedback I received really boosted my confidence. When I started this semester with the Hydro Market concept I am not really sure I even believed it was a good idea but through all of the exercises I have much more faith in my decision-making process. The experience I am most proud of achieving is completing the elevator pitch exercises. I have always hated giving speeches especially when it is my own ideas and thoughts being delivered. I noticed a huge difference in my body language and voice projection from the first video to the last.
·     As the semester comes to an end I can truly say I have developed the knowledge of what it takes to become an entrepreneur. It is not something you are born with but more so it is something you can develop over time. With that being said, at this point in my life I definitely do not see myself as an entrepreneur. I believe I need much more time to develop the mindset and determination it takes to hold the title of entrepreneur. I would also like to have completed my degree in business before I decide take on all of the risks associated with entrepreneurship.
·     To the future students who plan to take this course I recommend coming into this class with an open mind. Many of the assignments seem tedious, time-consuming, and pointless but the more you have under your belt the more you will come to realize that they really do help you develop an entrepreneurial mindset. As far as how to succeed, take the time to read the syllabus so you know what is expected of you and try to complete your assignments before the due date so you have time to edit if need be. No one will be reminding you that assignments are due so learn how to time manage.

Your final reflection is well thought out and hits on key points in completing this course. The venture concept was an accomplishment and I enjoyed reading of your development and passion for such a project. Congratulations on your progression in submitting multiple elevator pitches. It can be hard for many to speak to an “audience” whether virtual or in person. I agree with your recommendation to future students to keep an open mind. This will help them in vetting opportunities as well as completing the many assignments. Good luck to you!

  2. Hey Kristie! What a great final reflection blog post you've written! It was nice to read how you reflected this experience in your ENT3033 class for the semester. I liked to read what you enjoyed, didn't enjoy, accomplishments, and even failures. Because of these factors helped you learn from this class. Good job!
